What we have done?
Our goal is to help as much people as possible in order to make a change in the world and contribute positivly to our own community. This time we decided to start in a school in which children do not have the same quality of life as us and the CAT (Colegio Americano de Torreón) community. These school has 60 children in which education is offered folowing the method KIPP,and healthy food is offered while they are in school. While children are in this school they learn in a safe and comfortable environment using technology, and learning a second language in this case English. This school is called EDUSER and is located temporaly in Casa Saulo located in Boulevard Rodriguez y Boulevard Diagonal Las Fuentas, La Merced, in Torreón, Coahuila, México.
We created a Plan of Action in which we analyze what our community needed and how we can aid to resolve this problem. Our plan of action is as follows:
We are thankful to EDUSER that opened their doors, and help us complete this project, but most important thank to EDUSER we create a change and realize how many people need us!

- We researched what we could do in order to help a community in Torreón, and EDUSER opened their doors in order to complete the project, and they appreciated our visit.
- We talked to the principal, and told him about our project, and he was very excited that we were interested in helping these children.
- On Tuesday December 4, 2012 we went for the first time to EDSUSER.
- We arrived there and the voluntary nutriutionist talked to us, and explained what we need to do, and we talked about malnutrition and background about the kids health.
- We were at EDUSER from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and we record each kid´s weight and height, and recordered it in our notebook, and helped the principal to record the measures in their own tables.
- When we were done with the 60 kids we analyze the results, with the ones of the previous month, and we noticed the positive and negative changes in some of the kids. These kids do not have enough resources to have a proper and healthy diet, so when we were looking at the measures and records, we detected four severe cases.
- There were kids with serious undernutrition and kids with obesity. The principal let us talked to their parents with the help of the nutriutionist, in order to make them understand the condition of their child, but we had to be very careful in the way we told them because if you do not do it carefully the parents can be offended.
- We also talked to the beautifull kids in a simple manner, so we can make them understand what were this problems and the good eating habits.
- We created graphs and diagrams of the information recorded, so we can have a visual representation of the data recorded.
- Lastly, we were fascinated with our visits to EDUSER, so we voulunteered to come every month to continue our project, and continue to aid our community in the best way possible. We also want to expand our project to other students, parents, friends, teachers, and all people in Torreón, so we can provide health education to these children, and make a change.
