Malnutrition in México
Although México has done advancements to improve the quality life of severe poverty, the country has to face daily with the malnutrition problems of Undernutrition and obesity.
Undernutrition affects more the south region of México and obesity the north of México. This does not mean that only in these regions is where the problem is, but these parts of Mexico are the ones that are the most affected by malnutrition problems. The country has to increase the regulations and provide people with health education as well as basic needs for an appropriate development and growth.
The number of children in México with malnutrition problems is growing more each day. In the age from five to fourteen desnutrition has a percent of 7.25 in urban populations while in rural areas this number is doubled.
The number of child obesity has been increasing in the last past years. México has the first place worldwide in child obesity and the second place in adult obesity. According to the ENSANUT (Encuesta Nacional de Salud y Nutrición), one of every three teenagers from ages 12 to 19 has overweight or obesity.

Causes of Malnutrition in México
The main cause of malnutrition in México is the bad eating habits in the population, and also the poor health education. Obesity increases the risk of getting diabetes, strokes, cholesterol, and much more others. In México diabetes is a huge problem that is the first cause of death in adults in México. México is implementing methods in order to aid the obese and overweight population. The Mexican Health Secretary launched a campaign on February of 2008, that aimed at elementary school aged children to involve in physical activities and learn good eating habits, but the country have to continue the fight against malnutrition.
